I agree with this comment.  

Although I'm not against the practice of dancing tango to alternative music, my personal preference is to dance to the music of the Golden Era of Tango due to it's complex layers of melody and rhythm which were designed specifically for dancing. 

This complexity gives plenty of opportunities for playing and communing with one's dance partner.
