Last Tuesday at midday in Martin Place I had the great pleasure of tangoing with my friend Rosario Cassaniti and Todd Sampson - the pin-up boy for women who like their men intellectual!  In addition to having a stellar career in the advertising industry, Todd was the subject of a recent ground-breaking science documentary series Redesign My Brain.

What brought us together at this unorthodox time and place for Tango?

As part of Brain Awareness Week, the Foundation invited Sydney's Tango aficionados  to "strut their stuff ", to demonstrate the value of physical exercise to  brain health. Whilst only four of us turned up, perhaps due to the timing of the event, the organisers enthused how the tango dancing was a great attraction to the event. The other two dancers were Michelle Malouf and Gerald Edmunds. Gerald is the Foundation's CEO.

This was a fun  opportunity to draw to the attention of  the uninitiated to the many health benefits of Tango. These seem to be getting more and more press of late.

Also present on the day were table tennis players and the aforementioned and very personable Todd Sampson. Giving Todd instruction in embracing the Argentine way was indeed a personal highlight!

Thank you to the Brain Foundation for organising this event.

With the Brain Awareness team and tango lovers Rosario Cassaniti and Michelle Malouf.
