"The free leg is my voice! That's why I don't 'collect' automatically after every step. What I allow the free leg to do -- whether to swing out around behind me, to decorate, even to place it next to the other as though collecting, but it's not automatic, it's because I choose to do that at that moment -- it's because I want to use it that way -- I do all of that in order to communicate, to say something. 

I'm not saying that women should decorate like crazy without a reason. No! I decorate a lot, but when I decorate I'm talking and I don't want to talk without having something worthwhile to say (or else people will stop listening). But my free leg is my voice and if I don't use it to express myself my dance will be mute."
