Here's a tango scened from the movie Under the Pampas Moon (a.k.a The Gaucho).

The dancers are Frank Veloz (1906–1981) and Yolanda Casazza (1908–1995). They were a ballroom dance couple based in America and of Italian descent. They were famous during the 1930s and 1940s, and amongst the highest paid acts during this period.1

Under the Pampas Moon is a romantic western that has been described as a "ludicrously dated essay into South American caricature"2. Well l certainly don't believe the Argentines ever tangoed like that!  Their style of dance is ballroom tango, as popularised by many Hollywood movies. Despite the movie's "hollywoodisation" of the tango, the music sounds authentically Argentine.
