I apologise...

The evolution of a tango dancer...

"I was one of those who...

... started tango at the end of the 90s, thinking that it would take me two months to learn...

... got out onto the floor after taking classes for a month and zigzagged dangerously around, not realising that there were codes...

...criticised certain professional dancers when I had absolutely no idea what it means to give a performance...

...criticised the way that some foreigners danced, not realising the enormous efforts they were making to learn our culture...

...never felt satisfied with their own dance and who, despite not being as gifted as other dancers, took lessons as though I were in a race against the clock...

...was opinionated without knowledge, who criticised without understanding, who thought they were better than they actually were.

And I am writing now to apologise for my many mistakes and to thank the people who, out of the goodness of their hearts, helped me to grow up."
