My household, to put it mildly, is soccer obsessed.  Both my kids play the game and my weekends are spent cheering on the sidelines. When World Cup Soccer comes around every four years the rest of our lives are put on hold as we immerse ourselves in the adventures, the agony and the ecstasy of all that the World Cup encompasses. What has this got to do with tango? you may ask...

Last night while watching a local soccer game my soccer buddy remarked how the way Argentine soccer (herein referred to as futbol) players moved reminded him of tango dancers (elegant smooth, with flashes of unpredictability and fire) and how Brazilian futbol players reminded him of samba dancers (fast footwork. elaborate tricks and turns. It was an idea that prompted a search of videos with a tango / samba / futbol theme.

Let's Tango!..

Let's Samba!..
