Students' Celebration, September 10, 2017 SoTango Students' Celebrations are held at the end of every 7 week term. They're a great opportunity for all students (current and former) to practice social tango dancing in a supportive and friendly environment. Theme: 'Black White & Red' - wear one or any combination of these colours When: Sunday, October 22 - between 1pm - 6pm You can attend for the whole afternoon (or part thereof). (a five minute walk from Bondi Junction Station)
Free 'Intro to Tango' Workshop 1pm - 2pm Arrive 12.45pm - 1pm for registration If you're enjoying tango don't keep it a secret. Invite your friends to attend. It could change their life! Workshop: Integrate - A review of all Level 1 moves / concepts 2.30pm - 3.30pm Suitable for anyone who has completed at least our Level 1 course or equivalent. Our more experienced students (current and former) are invited to assist the workshop. Workshop: Initiate - Essential elements and etiquette of dancing socially 3.30pm - 4pm A practical and experiential guide to the essential elements of dancing tango socially. Recommended for anyone new to dancing at milongas. Can you spot Sophia here? Taken at Byron Bay Festival 2017 4pm - 6pm Enjoy the opportunity and fun of socially dancing with other students and experienced dancers Dress code: Remember the theme is 'Black White & Red' Complimentary tea, coffee and cakes, wine, sparkling water and nibbles Sweet, savoury or liquid contributions to the table are welcomed **'Practilonga' is a fusion of the tango traditions of 'Practica' and 'Milonga': The 'Milonga' element: music will be arranged in sets ('tandas') of 3 songs of the same type / syle followed by a cortina of 30 seconds (explained more in the Preparation lesson) The 'Practica' element: beginners can get feedback and advice from instructors and assistants.
