L4 Sep -Oct 2019

The theme for this term is a review of Cecilia Gonzalez's recent workshops. This will involve the following concepts:
  • Invasion of axis and concept of ‘loading’
  • Turns and dissociation
  • Art of walking and small turns
  • Change of direction
  • Twists on the ‘classics’
Weeks 6 and 7: October 7 and 14
In Weeks 6 and 7 we focused on refining and linking the moves covered in Weeks 1 - 5:
  • Giro to the Left with Leader's Back Step entry and Sacada on Follower's 2nd Side Step (Week 4)
  • Medialuna to the Right with Back Step entry ended with syncopated step (Week 3)
  • Salida 40 (Week 1)
We also focused on how to resolve these moves to get back into the line of dance:
  • Salida 40 resolves well the Medialuna to Right combination.
  • Cross System Cross resolves well the Giro to Left combination
Week 5: September 30
Reversed the order of combinations from Week 4:

Week 4: September 23

1. Introduced Giro to the Left with Leader's Back Step entry and Sacada on Follower's 2nd Side Step
2. Reviewed the combination of Medialuna to the Right with syncopated step resolved with Salida 40
3. Resolved the Medialuna combination to the Right with the Giro combination to the Left (an alternative ending to the Medialuna combination).

Week 3: September 16
  • Introduced Medialuna to the Right with Back Step entry (for Leader and Follower) ending with Sincopated Leader's Step
  • Showed how linking Salida 40 to this move gets you back in the line of dance:

Weeks 1 & 2: September 2 - 9
The focus was on Salida de Cuarente (40) - a move covered in Cecilia's first workshop. It's an elegantly juicy way to do the Cross System Cross:
