Found this quote in a Facebook post today by Terpsichoral Tangoaddict

"A couple aren't two halves of an orange1. They are two oranges in a fruit bowl. Unless there are two complete people there; two people, each of them vibrant and alive, there is no couple." (Vanina Bilous)

Vanina is referring to the presence and connection that tango dancers should aim to achieve in their dance.     

1Note that in Spanish the expression "media naranja" (translated as "half of an orange") can also be used, metaphorically speaking, to mean "soulmate", so it's a very apt metaphor to use!
