Tango is not always so 'serious'

People new to tango often comment how 'serious' everyone looks when they are dancing. The 'serious' face could be a reflection of being in the 'tango trance' ( a lovely state to be in!).
That said, the light hearted moments in tango are also enjoyable, and can arise from unexpected moments - such as making so-called 'mistakes', or clever, inventive ways of fixing them!
For me there is no such thing as a 'mistake' in tango, as long as no one is hurt, and the connection and musicality are maintained in some way. So when you feel like you're 'losing the plot' with your tango remember to keep your focus on keeping it musical and connected.
The best thing you can do when things don't quite work out the way you planned with your dancing is to smile and laugh it off. And sometimes the result of a move gone awry may be even better than what was intended!
